biography
Evelyn Thompson, Allied ASID is the principal of big white moon. Evelyn’s creative background is vast and eclectic. She is a member of the interior design industry’s most prestigious professional organization,ASID (American Society of Interior Designers) and has over 16 years experience in the field. She has been featured on HGTV, Essence Magazine and is formerly a partner of Design In Order — a design firm she founded in 1991 with close friend and fellow designer Angela Carfino. She participated on projects in San Francisco, Washington, D.C. ,Tokyo, Japan, Las Vegas, NV and the Greater Los Angeles, CA area. She has a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Southern California with additional coursework at UCLA. She is also a licensed spiritual counselor, facilitator, speaker and past co-director of the Agape Peace Ministry at the Agape International Spiritual Center in Los Angeles, CA.
Always reinventing herself, Evelyn recently expanded her design practice to include green consulting, interior green design and is a member of USGBC. big white moon is the name of this expanded endeavor. With trips to Egypt, Kenya, Peru and other exotic places, Evelyn is exploring the ancient roots of green and sharing those insights in design projects, consultations, workshops and speaking engagements. Over the years Evelyn has committed to adding elements to her interior green design projects.
The green revolution is about a change in consciousness, where we realize that life is about more than individual comfort and convenience. Green is many, many things… sustainable green design, recyclable, reclaimable, reusable, healthy, conscious. In short, it is a reawakening.
